Here, the ocean provides a rare opportunity to observe the playful Hawaiian Spinner dolphin, bottlenose and spotted dolphin, as well as Green sea turtles, manta rays and other marine life in their natural habitat, plus whales during the Winter season. BBQ lunch freshly grilled onboard, dolphin video and Certified Naturalist add to your cruise! All aboard the Hoku Nai'a, a twin hull catamaran custom built in 2007. Those who take the Royal Star bus tour aboard deluxe Renaissance motorcoach will also have the viewing pleasure of an original video on passing points of interest, history, culture and marine life to enhance their experience.

General Information

• Transportation / Bus Tour: Round-trip motorcoach transportation via deluxe Royal Star bus features a comfortable ride, onboard restroom, video presentation and mint & hand towelette service. Tour from Waikiki is 6 hours (7:00 am ~ 1:00 pm); tour from Ko Olina is 4.5 hours (8:00 am ~ 12:30 pm); Cruise is 2 hours.

• Cruise Time: 9:30 am ~ 11:30 am. Closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

• Location / Check-In: Departs from Waianae Boat Harbor - 85-371 Farrington Highway, Waianae, HI 96792. For those arriving via own transportation, please check in 45 minutes prior to departure at the vessel.

• Vessel Info: Built in 2007, the brand new Hoku Nai'a (Dolphin Star) is a twin hull catamaran custom designed for eco-friendly dolphin watching in Hawaiian waters. The 65-foot, 149-passenger vessel minimizes emissions with an EPA compliant hybrid power generator engine, GPS, autopilot radar and operates at the cruising speed shown by recent NOAA studies to be safe for marine mammals. It also has a 360-degree observation deck, wrap-around deck, dining area, bar, restroom and BBQ facility.

• Route: Hoku Nai'a cruises from Waianae Boat Harbor toward Kaena Point or Ko Olina, depending on the best possible route for whild dolphin watching. The Captain reserves the right to alter the route depending on sea conditions.
